We’ve seen the future of printing and it’s jet shaped. Well it’s not quite jet shaped but it is called a Jet Press.
Our print partner Greenshires has recently become only the second printer in the UK to install the latest in digital printing technology, the Fuji Jet Press.
This state-of-the-art press is a real game-changer. It is now possible to print short runs on a digital press, which produces a finish better than that achieved by a litho press. Yes, better. Not only that, but each page can be individually personalised.
Using inkjet technologies the Jet Press boasts four bars of print heads, each incorporating an astonishing 2,048 nozzles producing a print resolution of 1,200 dpi. The end result is stunning, brighter colours, beautiful skin tones and extraordinary fine text and line detail.
The Jet Press is a B2 format, which permits a larger printed sheet size of 495 x 700mm (maximum print area). Unlike other digital presses there is no requirement for specialist digital paper, therefore opening up all kinds of possibilities for coated and uncoated stocks up to a maximum of 400 grams.
The elimination of raw materials such as plates, water, alcohol and other consumables means the Jet Press scores highly as an environmentally friendly printing press.
On a recent client visit to see the press in action Greensquare’s Phil Westwood liked what he saw... ‘If I’m honest I’ve seen enough printing presses, however, when I learnt about the Jet Press I was genuinely excited to see it. We went over to Greenshires and produced some test sheets for a forthcoming print project. The results were stunning, I can’t wait to get the job on the press.’
